2-COLOR ABOVE-THRESHOLD IONIZATION - EXTENSION TO MULTIPLE CONTINUA

We present a discussion of the two-color above-threshold ionization pr ocess, performed with the aim of studying strong-field continuum-conti nuum transitions. We extend the approach of Rzazewski et al. [J. Opt. Sec. Am. B 7, 481 (1990)] to obtain analytically solvable equations fo r the multiple continuum model analyzed by Deng and Eberly [J. Opt. Se c. Am. B 2, 486 (1985)]. Some comments on the effect of continuum-cont inuum transitions on the Line shape of a laser-induced continuum struc ture are also made. (C) 1996 Optical Society of America
