Hydrogen evolution from aqueous solutions on the p-indium phosphide ph
otocathodes was studied. The efficiency of this process is affected by
the crystallographic orientation of the photocathode surface. The inf
luence of platinum metal additives in the electrolyte on water photoly
sis is discussed.
