In the same way as the Jewish religion stands apart from the other rel
igions through its pan-textualism, Jewish rituals stand apart from tho
se of other faiths through their <<textual>> character, whether one co
nsiders the daily putting on of the phylacteries or the Easter meal th
at seems a pure ingestion of <<signifiers>>. Double movement of these
rituals: on one hand they are an anthropomorphisation of the Text, yet
on the other, they imply a textualisation of the anthropos.
