R. Simo et Ns. Jones, EXTRATEMPORAL FACIAL-NERVE PARALYSIS AFTER BLUNT TRAUMA, The journal of trauma, injury, infection, and critical care, 40(2), 1996, pp. 306-307
Presented are two patients in whom facial palsy developed after blunt
trauma to the side of the face, Both patients made a complete and unev
entful recovery, The etiology of a facial nerve lesion can be establis
hed through knowledge of the possible sites of injury to the facial ne
rve, good history taking and physical examination, together with appro
priate tests, The prognosis of an injury secondary to blunt trauma is
generally good.
