LICHENOSTIGMA-ELONGATA SPEC-NOV (DOTHIDEALES), A LICHENICOLOUS ASCOMYCETE ON LOBOTHALLIA AND ASPICILIA SPECIES

The lichenicolous fungus Lichenostigma elongata Nav.-Ros. et Haf. spec . nova (Dothideales, Lichenotheliaceae) is described as new. This spec ies lives parasitically on the thalli and apothecia of different speci es of Lobothallia and Aspicilia. L. elongata is distinguished from L. maureri Haf. and L. rugosa Thor, the only two species of the genus pre viously described, in the oblong-elongated shape of the ascocarps and the broader ascospores. For Lichenostigma species with elongate ascoma ta and superficial strands of hyphae the subgenus Lichenogramma Nav.-R os. & Haf. is described.
