Bondiella was described from leaf blades of dried fallen palm fronds c
ollected in Tanzania. Ascospores are reddish-brown, finely echinulate
and two celled and surrounded by a mucilaginous sheath, while asci are
bitunicate and contain 24 ascospores. The taxon is redescribed and il
lustrated with interference contrast micrographs and its placement at
the family level is discussed.
