Jm. Golden et Bi. Halperin, RELATION BETWEEN BARRIER CONDUCTANCE AND COULOMB-BLOCKADE PEAK SPLITTING FOR TUNNEL-COUPLED QUANTUM DOTS, Physical review. B, Condensed matter, 53(7), 1996, pp. 3893-3900
We study the relation between the barrier conductance and the Coulomb
blockade peak splitting for two electrostatically equivalent dots conn
ected by tunneling channels with bandwidths much larger than the dot c
harging energies. We find that this problem is equivalent to a well-kn
own single-dot problem and present solutions for the relation between
peak splitting and barrier conductance in both the weak- and strong-co
upling limits. Results are in good qualitative agreement with the expe
rimental findings of Waugh et al.
