Abstract
Amylostereum areolatum (Fr.: Fr.) Boidin has been found in South Afric a for the first time. So far, its presence has been confirmed on Pinus radiata D. Don in the Tokai Plantation, Western Cape. Its distributio n area is expected to follow that of the wood-boring wasp, Sirex nocti lio Fabricius, with which it has a symbiotic association.
