Abstract
The new Kaiserstuhl coking plant uses the most modern technologies for coke production. Its installations are largely automated. Novel techn iques, like biological waste water treatment, have been successfully i ntroduced. During start up and operation, a certain number of problems have been solved and the plant operates now smoothly. The measures ta ken to protect the environment appear to be quite efficient.
