Abstract
Hydrogen detected in the mould slag film during continuous casting is suspected to be at the origin of lubrification anomalies when casting 0.08-0.12% C steel grades. A strict control of the water contents of r aw materials used during elaboration and casting, in particular mould powders, has been organized.
