An. Bastrikov et al., VOLTAGE DIVIDER FOR MEASURING MEGAVOLT PULSES WITH NANOSECOND RISE-TIME, Instruments and experimental techniques, 38(4), 1995, pp. 474-476
The divider consists of two electrically and magnetically coupled line
s in a common shield. One is an oil-filled high-voltage line, the othe
r is formed by an unshielded cable fixed on the wall inside the first
line. The input of the second line is loaded to the identical shielded
cable connected at the other end to a low-inductance shunt. The divis
ion factor is determined by solving the electrostatic equation. The me
asured factor (similar to 100) is in agreement with the calculation, a
nd the divider faithfully reproduces the pulse shape. In a test experi
ment, a 2-MV voltage pulse with a rise time of similar to 1 nsec was r
ecorded.
