Abstract
Isothermal section of the ternary phase diagram Yb - Ni - Ge was const ructed using methods of X-ray diffractometry. The existence of the ter nary compounds of compositions: YbNi5Ge3, Yb3N11Ge4, YbNi2Ge2, YbNiGe3 , Yb2NiGe3, Yb2NiGe5, YbNiGe, and Yb-2(Ni, Ge)(3) is supported. Moreov er, five new compounds: Yb0.17Ni0.27Ge0.30, Yb0.25Ni0.25Ge0.50, Yb0.27 Ni0.28Ge0.45, Yb0.33Ni0.27Ge0.40, and Yb0.33Ni0.17Ge0.50 are found in the system.
