C. Li et al., COMPLEMENTARITY BETWEEN THE ENERGY RESULTS OF H AND E FORMULATIONS INEDDY-CURRENT PROBLEMS, IEE proceedings. A, Science, measurement and technology, 141(1), 1994, pp. 25-30
There are two opposite opinions on the particular question whether or
not the bilateral energy bounds can be established in eddy-current pro
blems. The paper is a contribution to this discussion. The authors wil
l show that with the variational process previously proposed, the cons
traints imposed on the variations of the field quantities generally ca
nnot be applied in the numerical calculations. The authors also try to
give a possible explanation for the phenomenon of 'complementarity' b
etween the energy results obtained by H-oriented and by E-oriented for
mulations.
