E. Martinez et al., A STUDY OF THE A(0(U)(-130(2) BY LIF - FLUORESCENCE LIFETIMES OF SPECIFIC ROVIBRATIONAL LEVELS()) AND B(0(U)(+)) STATES OF TE), Journal of physics. B, Atomic molecular and optical physics, 26(17), 1993, pp. 2777-2784
Fluorescence lifetimes from specific (upsilon', J') rovibrational leve
ls of the A(0u+) and B(0u+) states of Te-2(130) have been measured by
LIF. For the A state, lifetimes decrease slowly from upsilon' = 7 (943
+/- 68 ns) to upsilon' = 13 (764 +/- 12 ns), owing to the variation o
f the electronic transition moment with internuclear distance. Lifetim
es decrease sharply for upsilon' > 13, due to perturbation effects. A
collision cross section of sigma = 140 +/- 6 angstrom2 has been measur
ed. For the B state, collisionless lifetimes of 80 +/- 10 ns have been
measured for upsilon' = 2-5, J < 100, in agreement with previous meas
urements.
