Abstract
A merged beam apparatus has been used to measure cross sections for O/O- and N+/O- mutual neutralization for centre-of-mass energies betwee n 1 and 600 eV. The results are in good agreement with inclined beam m easurements of Peart et al in the overlapping range of energies above 33 eV but they are incompatible with results of earlier merged beam ex periments performed elsewhere.
