For the lithium atom, spherically averaged total and magnetic form fac
tors, F(k) and M(k), and internally folded densities, B(s) and Q(s) ha
ve been calculated from highly accurate configuration interaction wave
functions. Their general functional behaviour is analysed together wit
h those from the lithium isoelectronic series (Be+ to Ne7+). The influ
ence of electron correlation on these properties is investigated by co
mparisons with calculations obtained from Hartree-Fock wavefunctions.
