Abstract
A comparative experimental study of the clinico-pathological and serol ogical response of sheep and goats to orf infection was made. All infe cted animals depicted typical orf lesions and seroconverted. The clini cal, serological, gross and histopathological responses were similar i n both species. However, the disease span was longer in sheep than in goats. It was concluded that sheep could play an important role in mai ntenance of the virus in the environment.
