Abstract
Short-ranged local magnetic moments manifesting a cusp in the magnetic susceptibility measurements are found to exist in silver nano-particl es embedded in SiO2 glass prepared by sol-gel method. The spin-glass s tates occur occasionally only for samples with diluted fine nanometer size.
