Abstract
The dream of much Batch Control standardization has been the developme nt of a common Batch language. In practice, Batch languages are superp osed on collections of archaic control data bases and diagrammatic rep resentations. A common Control Language could integrate all aspects of control. Such a language could capture the insights of continuous, lo gical and batch control together, and still be measured against the va rious standardized Batch Models or diagrams. The illustrated language is based on a number of ideas previously presented in individual paper s: SuperVariables, Idioms, Bracket Sequencing Control Structures, and Theme Statements. As these ideas come together, they bring together th e two main streams of Fluid Process Control.
