Abstract
A modified system of fertilization of fish ponds is described, which t akes into account the requirements of plant-eating fish in food phytop lankton and the requirements of the latter in components of mineral fe eding. Biological substantiation of the new system is provided and the results of its testing in fish ponds are presented. The results obtai ned suggest an increase in fish productivity, as compared with the con trol, and shifts in taxonomic and size structure of the phytoplanktoni c community.
