Interdiffusion coefficients in gamma-TiAl have been measured in the te
mperature range from 1116 to 1583 K. No significant concentration depe
ndence of the interdiffusivities was observed in Ti50Al50/Ti46Al54 sin
gle-phase interdiffusion couples. The temperature dependence of the in
terdiffusivities obeys the Arrhenius law with a pre-exponential factor
of D-0 = 2.8 . 10(-4) m(2) s(-1) and an activation enthalpy of Q = (2
95 +/- 10) kJ mol(-1) within experimental error. The present result is
discussed together with the data of Ti-44 tracer diffusion in TiAl.
