Abstract
A technique for the contactless monitoring of the temperature of a hea ted body using a pyrometer under intense background radiation is descr ibed. The sample is periodically heated by laser pulses outside the py rometer's spectral band, and the pyrometer only detects the alternatin g component of the thermal radiation time locked to the laser pulses.
