Hp. Wessel et N. Iberg, THE SMOOTH-MUSCLE CELL ANTIPROLIFERATIVE ACTIVITY OF HEPARAN-SULFATE MODEL OLIGOSACCHARIDES, Bioorganic & medicinal chemistry letters, 6(4), 1996, pp. 427-430
Heparan sulfate model oligosaccharides were devised with the simplyfyi
ng assumptions that i) carboxyl-reduction and subsequent sulfation of
heparan sulfate does not decrease the SMC antiproliferative activity,
and ii) N-Sulfates in glucosamines can be replaced by O-sulfates. Thes
e heparan sulfate model oligosaccharides are more active than analogou
s heparin fractions.
