Su. Egelhaaf et P. Schurtenberger, A FIBER-OPTICS-BASED LIGHT-SCATTERING INSTRUMENT FOR TIME-RESOLVED SIMULTANEOUS STATIC AND DYNAMIC MEASUREMENTS, Review of scientific instruments, 67(2), 1996, pp. 540-545
A fiber-optics-based multiangle light scattering instrument is present
ed, which permits time-resolved static and dynamic measurements. The s
cattered light is simultaneously collected at nine fixed directions us
ing single and few mode fibers. Furthermore, a continuous range of sca
ttering angles between 3.6 degrees and 144.1 degrees is obtained by ch
anging the direction of the incident beam. The instrument is thus idea
lly suited for determinations of form and structure factors, which dem
and precise measurements over a large range of scattering angles, as w
ell as for studies of aggregation phenomena or structural transitions,
which require time-resolved multiangle measurements. (C) 1996 America
