A rigid disk adheres perfectly to the upper surface of an elastic laye
r fixed to an undeformable support. A rotation is applied to the disk
around its axis. The resulting mixed boundary value problem is describ
ed by a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind. Under the assum
ption that the ratio of layer thickness to disk radius is not exceedin
gly small, an approximate explicit solution of this problem is given.
