Abstract
It is considered the possibility to use the stationary plasma (Hall) t hrusters for the Pluto fast flyby mission [1-3]. There were considered applications of the existing and working out space technology compone nts, such as Russian launcher Proton, upper stage Block D (Block DM), series M100-M290 of SPT [4-6], Germany and US solar arrays [4, 5]. The re were considered direct flight to Pluto and Jupiter swingby trajecto ries. This investigation demonstrates the possibility to realize a Plu to fast flyby mission based on considered thrusters and solar electric al power unit. Use of solar electric propulsion allows a decrease of t ransfer time, and increased mass of payload.
