Conductivity data on single crystal and cold-pressed polycrystalline s
amples of Cu2P3I2 demonstrate that Cu+ ion migration dominates the ele
ctrical conductivity over the temperature range 25-300 degrees C in ar
gon. Both sets of samples exhibit fully reversible Arrhenius-type cond
uctivity behavior with activation energy values of similar to 0.45eV a
nd typical conductivity values of ca. 1.90 x 10(-3) S.cm(-1) at 186 de
grees C. The conductivity appears to be one-dimensional.
