Abstract
This paper summarizes Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability ( RAM) specifications that were issued for thyristor based HVDC converte r stations in service in North America. A total of twenty project spec ifications are summarized. A detailed summary by project 13 shown with specific quantitative requirements categorized. Definitions of terms, representative design principles, and formulas used in calculating RA M parameters contained in existing reliability specifications are pres ented.
