Jf. Suarez et al., PAPILLARY TUMOR OF THE PANCREAS DIAGNOSED BY FINE-NEEDLE ASPIRATION, Revista espanola de enfermedades digestivas, 88(1), 1996, pp. 53-55
We report the case of a 48 year-old woman with an epigastric palpable
mass identified by abdominal echography and computed tomography as a s
olid pancreatic turner. A citology taken by fine needle aspiration gui
ded by computed tomography was diagnostic of papillary pancreatic tumo
r, which was confirmed by surgical resection. We emphasize the low fre
quency and good prognosis of this type of tumor after surgical resecti
on, and the utility of image techniques and fine needle aspiration to
obtain a preoperative diagnosis.
