J. Liu et Re. Berry, HETERORHABDITIS MARELATUS N-SP (RHABDITIDA, HETERORHABDITIDAE) FROM OREGON, Journal of invertebrate pathology, 67(1), 1996, pp. 48-54
A new species of the nematode genus Heterorhabditis was found during a
survey of soil entomopathogenic nematodes near Seaside, Oregon. Heter
orhabditis marelatus n. sp. differs from other species of Heterorhabdi
tis by the length of infective juvenile and gubernaculum, and the shap
e of spicules, bursa, and genital papillae. Heterorhabditis marelatus
n. sp. has distinct random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) fragments,
with a minimal RAPD polymorphism frequency of 0.85 to other Heterorha
bditis species examined. (C) 1996 Academic Press, Inc.
