In this paper, we present a method for modelling of chamber mufflers b
y four-pole electrical ducts. The basic equations of the electrical du
cts as the four-poles are first derived in the paper. Based on the ele
ctrical-acoustic analogy, the muffler elements are represented by four
-pole electrical ducts. The acoustic pressure is analogous to voltage,
while the volumetric velocity corresponds to current. Transmission lo
ss (TL) is selected as a muffler characteristic. Some numerical result
s are given in the paper for various chamber diameters and lengths. Re
sults are compared to those obtained with other methods.
