Lm. Vasilyak et al., DISSIPATION OF ENERGY UNDER CONDITIONS OF BREAKDOWN OF HE, HE KR, ANDHE/KR/F-2 BY HIGH-VELOCITY IONIZATION WAVE/, High temperature, 34(1), 1996, pp. 16-19
Experimental measurements have been performed of the velocity of ioniz
ation wave and the plasma-absorbed energy in a discharge tube 42 cm lo
ng in the gas pressure range of 30-750 torr with the: amplitude of hig
h-voltage pulse of 120 kV and pulse duration of 40 ns. Given the ioniz
ation wave velocity of 4 to 6 cm/ns, the specific energy contribution
to gas reaches values of 1-2 J/cm(3). It has been found that the ioniz
ation wave velocity and energy contribution to gas mixtures are higher
than in the case of pure helium for all investigated pressures.
