Abstract
A mathematical model is proposed of a system of combination heat shiel ding of radiation-evaporation type. This model is used to calculate th e parameters of both combination and radiation plate heat shielding, w ith the time dependences of the external heat flux and pressure being the same as those used in the experimental investigation [1] of these two systems of heat shielding. Comparison of the experimental and calc ulation results has revealed some important drawbacks of the experimen tal procedure of [1].
