Abstract
The author describes how the University of Central Lancashire has chos en to make electronic document delivery available to remote users in a ccordance with the requirements of the European Commission research pr oject BIBDEL. Details are given of the information technology resource s deployed to offer this service and the difficulties experienced in d oing so. The library management issues contingent on offering the serv ice operationally are then explored; among which the current imprecisi on of copyright legislation is held to be the most important.
