Studies were made on the recrystallization of pure zinc and the alloys
Zn-0.08 Al-0.04 Mg, Zn-0.58 Pb-0.02 Cd and Zn-0.9 Cu (in wt.%). It ha
s been ascertained that texture and temperature of recrystallization d
epend on the schedule of cold deformation. It has been shown that the
reason of this dependence are the differences in orientation and densi
ty of the recrystallization nuclei formed during deformation. The prim
ary recrystallization of zinc and its alloys takes place according to
the theory of oriented nucleation. Preferred nuclei are (0001) (11 (2)
over bar 0) slip bands which arise, in quantities depending on deform
ation schedule, during multiple slip in (0001) (11 (2) over bar 0) and
{11<(22)over bar>} (11 (2) over bar 3) systems o r during double copl
anar slip in the (0001) plane.
