Abstract
Using the mathematical model for kinetics of adsorption of polymers on the surface of suspension particles, the constants of adsorption equi librium and maximum amount of the polymer (PEG, PVA, CMC, PEI) adsorbe d per unit surface area of adsorbent (AgI, Sb2S3, melamine-formaldehyd e resin, polystyrene) were determined. The values of the surface area per macromolecule in a saturated adsorbed layer on the adsorbent surfa ce were calculated. The effect of the nature and molecular mass of a p olymer on these values was studied. The rate constants of adsorption a nd desorption of poly(vinyl alcohol) on the particles of antimony sulf ide suspension were determined.
