Tm. Usacheva et al., DIELECTRIC-PROPERTIES OF CARBOXYMETHYLATED ISONONYLPHENOL ETHOXYLATES, Colloid journal of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 58(1), 1996, pp. 91-95
Dielectric properties of carboxymethylates with various degrees of eth
oxylation and carboxymethylation were studied at the frequency of 1 MH
z in the temperature range 293 - 363 K. It was shown that, as the numb
er of ethylene oxide groups per Na+ ion increases, the permittivity of
carboxymethylates decreases and the dielectric dispersion shifts towa
rd lower frequencies. Such effects may be caused by the increasing sol
vating ability of the oxyethylene chain with respect to Na+ ions, as t
he degree of ethoxylation rises.
