Abstract
A transient magnetic circuit model of a field regulated reluctance mac hine is presented. The model is based on flux loop equations rather th an node equations as have previously been employed. A key feature of t his approach is that magnetic circuit models based on loop equations p ermit an entire machine to be represented by only one equivalent pole.
