N. Turkozkan et al., THE EFFECT OF 2-CHLOROADENOSINE ON THE ATP LEVEL NA,K-ATPASE ACTIVITYIN EXPERIMENTAL BRAIN ISCHEMIA OF GERBIL, General pharmacology, 27(1), 1996, pp. 165-166
T1. The effect of 2-chloroadenosine, an adenosine analogue, on brain A
TP level and Na,K ATPase activity in ischemia and reperfusion was stud
ied. 2. Na,K ATPase activity decreased in both ischemia and reperfusio
n. Although the ATP level decreased in ischemia, it increased with rep
erfusion (P < 0.05). 3. It is concluded that 2-chloroadenosine treatme
nt influenced ATP production and Na,K ATPase activity in ischemia and
reperfusion (P < 0.05).
