Abstract
The reactions of trialkyl phosphites with alpha-iodoketones in the pre sence of silver perchlorate or silver tetrafluoroborate yield the corr esponding trialkyl phosphates and tetra-alkyl pyropbosphates. Under ce rtain conditions, CIDNP effects indicate the involvement of radical-pa irs in the formation of unstable betaine intermediates.
