Abstract
Denonvilliers' Fascia: In 1836, Charles-Pierre Denonvilliers discovere d a ''prostato-peritoneal membrane'' extending between the bladder and rectum. This tissue layer has become known as Denonvilliers' fascia. Since its first description, its embryonal origin and anatomy has been the subject of discussion, In modern urological and rectal surgery De nonvilliers' fascia has gained in significance.
