Kv. Katti et al., THE POTENTIAL OF PHOSPHINIMINES AS BUILDING-BLOCKS FOR A NEW-GENERATION OF RADIOPHARMACEUTICALS, Phosphorus, sulfur and silicon and the related elements, 75(1-4), 1993, pp. 55-58
Reaction of Ph3P = NSiMe3 with NH4ReO4 produced the ion pair Ph3P = NH
2+ReO4- which was characterized by spectroscopic data and X-ray crysta
llography. The thermolysis of this ion pair gave the neutral Re(VII) c
omplex: Ph3P = N-ReO3 in good yields. The reactions of (TcO4-)-Tc-99m
Or (ReO4-)-Re-188 with Ph3P = N-SiMe3 also produced the metallic radio
isotope analogues of the ion pair: Ph3P = NH2+MO4- (M = Tc-99m or Re-1
88) which on heating produce the neutral species Ph3P = N-MO3 (M = Tc-
99m or Re-188). The implications of such small molecule Tc-99m or Re-1
88 complexes for the development of a new genre of radiopharmaceutical
s will be discussed.
