Abstract
An extended Kahman filter is described as part of a control system for a simulation of a fedbatch biochemical reactor. The estimator utilize s noisy measurements of oxygen concentration and oxygen uptake rate wi th infrequent and time-delayed measurements of biomass and substrate c oncentrations to estimate the state of the system. The state estimates are used with a feedback controller to track the optimal trajectory f or biomass production.
