Abstract
The reaction of L-alanine (L-ala) with Fe(NO3)(2) . 9H(2)O in the pres ence of H(5)dhpta 1,3-diamino-2-hydroxypropane-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic a cid) and base (NaOH) affords the novel tetranuclear complex Na[Fe-4(dh pta)(2)(O)(OH)(L-ala)(2)]. 6H(2)O having L-alaninato bridges and an (F e-4(O2H))(9+) core whose crystal structure and magnetic properties wer e determined.
