Different well-controlled microstructures of polycrystalline SnO2 were
obtained by pyrolysis of an ultrafine aerosol using several precursor
solutions. Quasi-spherical agglomerates and hollow spherical particle
s were obtained. Metallic Pd particles were dispersed on the SnO2 grai
ns by adding a metallic precursor. Microstructural characteristics are
discussed, in connection with electrical conductance under both pure
and polluted air.
