Mj. Saavedra et al., CA-ZR-O SYSTEM - SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF COMPOUNDS USING SEVERAL ROUTES OF PREPARATION, Solid state ionics, 63-5, 1993, pp. 213-217
Sol-gel techniques are extensively studied as convenient routes for pr
eparation of oxides in the form of fine powders and for this reason ha
ve gained noticeable consideration with regard to both scientific and
application purposes. The authors have used this process in the synthe
sis of oxides in the system Ca-Zr-O. The preparation of perovskite, Ca
ZrO3, and the PHI phases: PHI1(CaZr4O9), PHI(Ca2Zr7O16) and PHI2(Ca6Zr
19O44) were attempted by employing several routes: (a) ceramic method;
(b) oxalated mixed procedure; and (c) the sol-gel technique, in which
the reactants used were zirconium propoxide and calcium propionate. T
he characterization of compounds has been studied by X-ray diffraction
and their crystallization by thermal analysis (thermogravimetry, diff
erential thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis).
