Abstract
This review is devoted to a surface carbohydrate antigen of the bacter ium Pseudomonas aeruginosa which is common for most strains of the spe cies and has a lipopolysaccharide nature. The occurrence, detection, i solation, structure, exposure on cell surface, interaction with antibo dies, with an antibiotic and a bacteriophage, as well as immunotherape utical potential of the common polysaccharide antigen are discussed.
