Perovskite-related phases of the type SrRuxTi1-xO3 and Sr2RuyTi1-yO4 h
ave been synthesized. Both systems are obtained as homogeneous phases
in the range 0 less-than-or-equal-to (x, y) less-than-or-equal-to 1. T
hermogravimetric, X-ray powder diffraction, electrical resistivity, an
d magnetic measurements have been used to establish a correlation betw
een the ruthenium/titanium ratio and the thermochemical as well as the
physical properties of the studied phases. The role of the oxygen sto
ichiometry with respect to tailoring physical properties is shortly di
scussed.
