Abstract
The formation of polaron-type quasi particles in solids with a low mob ility of charge carriers caused by interactions with electronic and nu clear subsystems of the surrounding lattice is discussed. The phenomen on is shown on organic molecular crystals, such as polyenes, where mod els are well developed using rigorous theories of electronic, molecula r and lattice polarons. The ways of model extension to organic polymer s are shown.
