The capabilities of a PC program that can be used for predicting diffe
rent metallurgical processes controlled by solid state bonding are des
cribed in this paper. Program considers different solutions to the Fic
k's second law, such as: thin films, pair of semi-infinite solids, fin
ite solid and infinite solid. Theoretical results are compared with ex
perimental data obtained in two different situations: surface oxidatio
n in Al-Li alloys and diffusion bonding of ferreous materials.
